Born in Nassau, Dr. Bowe began his academic journey at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He then completed his medical training, receiving his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B. & B.S.) from the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica.
Dr. Bowe pursued highly competitive postgraduate training in Canada at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, completing a rigorous residency in orthopedic surgery and serving as Chief Resident. He achieved the elite designation of Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (F.R.C.S.C.) and went on to complete a highly specialized fellowship in Arthroplasty (joint reconstruction and replacement) at Dalhousie University. His academic excellence was recognized by his election to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Returning to the Bahamas to serve his community, Dr. Bowe established himself as a cornerstone of the nation's healthcare infrastructure. He has held numerous high-profile leadership and clinical roles, including:
- Chairman of The Bahamas Medical Council: Appointed to lead the regulatory body overseeing medical governance across the commonwealth from July 2020 through June 2023, following a term as a board member.
- Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon: Provided premier specialist care at both the public Princess Margaret Hospital and the private Doctor’s Hospital in Nassau for nearly two decades.
- Private Practice Founder: Directs specialized patient care at the Bahamas Bone & Joint Centre.
- Medical Referee: Appointed as an expert medical referee for The National Insurance Board of The Bahamas.
